the garden

WHY GARDEN?

Few things bring you as close to your creature than spending time in His creation. There’s something about running your hands through the very dirt from which He created us. Looking at a vast nothingness in hopes of new life. Gardens teach us patience, perseverance and reward of hard work. Gardens also teach us to anticipate unknowns. A spike in weather can wipe out entire crops. A hungry four legged friend can take the tops of all your pea plants. Your seeds can fail and the harvest can be plentiful or non-existent.

Gardening is not for the faint of heart but it is for those who are willing to endure patiently, without expectation. And there is no greater reward than harvesting that which you cultivated from the beginning and enjoying the feast.

There are lots of gardening experts, many videos on how to do it best. There are people who make a living providing tips and tricks for the best results. That is not what you will find here. This is about the heart behind the garden. The heart that longs for our eternal garden, lush and restored to its original state. This is about learning to craft a fruitful life between two gardens. This is about getting closer to the creator through His creation.

Get outside, feel the dirt and smell the earth. Walk barefoot among the rows ready for planting and count your seeds. The workers are few but the harvest could be plenty.
